Down 1.68%: PSEi Received one of the Biggest Blow

PSEi had received one of the biggest blow today, May 27, 2015; ending down by 1.68% at 7,598.70 it’s lowest in the past 30 days.

Mining and Oil was the most hardly hit, down by 3.33%, followed by Industrial, and Financials at -2.78% and -2.04% respectively. Overall, all sectors decline not lower than 1%. A total of 137 stocks declined while 45 advanced; 40 remain unchanged.

Americas market also posted a significant drop in their index; DOW -1.04%, S&P 500 -1.03%, NASDAQ -1.11%, S&P/TSX COMPOSITE -.90%, IPC -1.01%, IPSA -0.67%, & IBOVESPA -1.79%; in contrast, majority of the European index posted growth. Moreover, majority of the Asian markets declined with Japan, China, India, and Indonesia posting growth in their stock index.

The Philippines GDP data will be released tomorrow, which is expected to give some optimism to the market.
